Interior Overhaul

This year we are focusing on the inside of our house and making it our 'own'. We've been here for two years and haven't really put our personal touches anywhere. It's been all about function and practicality. Last year we focused on the backyard and getting it all set up for the kids. It's literally a playground out there and they love it!

So, we are going to paint, paint, paint. I love painting and making things fresh. I have some ideas for the kids rooms but at the same time have so many ideas that I'm not too sure which to choose. This weekend we are going to tackly the kitchen. The walls are covered in tongue-in-groove dark pine. It makes the kitchen so dingy and dark and I just want to brighten it up some. I think a nice yellow is in order.

For each weekend after that we'll tackly another room. It will be awhile before we do our diningroom since it is the kids playroom and the kitchen is plenty large enough to be an eat in. I was filling some holes on the weekend just taking stock of things and storing things we no longer need/use and I realized that the only thing somewhat babyish that we have left is the gate that's a 1/4 of the way up the stairs. Even that will be going soon now that Max is potty trained and Charlotte starts.

Just like that I have 3 CHILDREN...no real toddlers/babies CHILDREN! Oh my!

With these children come all of their wonderful sayings. Here are a few of their favorites of late.

Charlotte - "My Mommy/Daddy Max, not you!" "C'mon Mom/Dad" and my favorite..."Iss, Iss, Iss please"

Max - "Excuse me, do you wanna go back to your room?" "It wasn't me it was Charlotte" "HAYDEN.....wanna play?"

Hayden - "Remember before I was here we....." "I had a dream that ...." "I'm not a baby anymore Mom, I read chapter books"

Can you hear me sobbing?

I'm ready to go back to work, does that make me a horrible mother?

I believe the title says it all. Literally being in the house since Thursday afternoon with the kids has worn me out beyond belief. After tomorrow our 'incubation' period is over. Dave is staying home with kids tomorrow since I really need to get back to work. Perhaps it would have been alot more fun and exciting if we were able to go out of the yard and Hayden & Charlotte weren't so cranky!!

That being said, I am getting alot accomplished in the house. Dave put the wall up to separate our bedroom from Hayden's a few months ago and put the first coating of mud on it. We finally got it sanded and I'll put the paint up today should the kids allow me. I have decluttered a ton!! It was embarrassing how much stuff we had shoved everywhere. With all this new freed up space we are able to bring our deep freeze up from the basement and put it out on the porch. We haven't used it since the winter!

I need a picture fix so these are some from the beginning of the year. I should get some taken this week to send in for Charlotte's birthday next week come to think of it. We have all of her birthday shopping done and it is all very very girly! She is such a dress up queen, anything that she can put on she will put on. She has been wearing the same pink watch she got from the cereal box for about 2 weeks now. She will not even remove it to take a bath or go to bed. Here she is in January with Max's hat on and layered up sweaters. I really need to get one of the watch!

Spoke too soon?

I apparently spoke way way way too soon. Hayden woke up this morning his usual grumpy self but as the morning has worn on he is becoming covered in spots. Is this safe to say that tomorrow Max will turn into a cheetah too?

As promised last night, here are some pictures of my lovely tomato plants and the HFM. Out of order unfortunately.....

Your can't see any on Charlotte besides her head because she has layers and layers on to keep her from scratching them.

Hand Foot Mouth Disease!?!?!

Yes, that's right Hand Foot Mouth disease has made its way into our household. We are beyond lucky! In a way I suppose we are since only Charlotte has it. I was pretty certain it was chicken pox and her vaccine for it failed but nope. The good of all of this is that I am off work until Tuesday while we are in "quarantine" from all other people. It will be nice to be able to relax and enjoy ourselves knowing full well that we can't really go anywhere or do much.

She doesn't seem uncomfortable and is going about her usual self.....now. The last week was absolute misery. I figured she was just "exercising her independence" and all before since she will be 2 soon. It turns out it was this....woops!

On my first day home I was able to finally finally get the last of my flowers in. They have been sitting in the spot where I actually wanted them planted for 3 weeks now. I also have 2 tomato plants that are thriving. I can't wait until they are ripe and ready to eat. I'll have to take some pictures and post them.

This summer we aren't going anywhere fancy or doing much at all. This is the first summer that both Dave & I are working and that's hectic enough for the kids. They look forward to and enjoy the weekends we get at home. Next year though we do plan on doing something, just not too sure what as of yet.

So I will be back to post those tomato pictures and the ones of my poor girl and her "spots". She says she's a 'eeta' aka cheetah.

Over a year, can you believe it!!

Do I update us or just post a bunch of pictures?? Can you believe I let this go for a full year? Anyone who knows me knows the answer is a yes!

Let's see, the quick update would be Hayden starts Grade One in the fall, Max just turned 3 and Charlotte will be 2 in a few weeks. Seriously, where has the time gone?

I'm back to work full-time and really enjoy it surprisingly enough. Dave is working for Dumolin and enjoys it as well. Definitely a plus for both of us.

I am going to do my best to try and keep this up to speed a little better...no promises though! Enough of all this chit chat, time for recent pictures!

Hayden won 1st place in the Canada Day Bike parade..he was so very proud!

Max got his very first bike for his 3rd birthday. It's now his most prized possession!

The lady of house..the one that will not stay clean or sit still for pictures.

A little too long, perhaps!

I hadn't realized that it had been so long since I last posted an entry. Not too sure even how many people grace this page or how often even.

We have been very busy lately, as is life with 3 kids I suppose.

Hayden had his first ever birthday party invitation and the actual party itself yesterday. He had a blast and asked to go about every 35 seconds between the time he got the invitation and it was time to acutally go. They played games and he won a prize. Then, I take him to school this morning and one of the other moms asked if I'd be willing to take Hayden into Kanata for her son's party. It's one of his best little buddies so of course he's going to go, but that's not until the end of March. He may be attending Nate's birthday the weekend of 10th but I'm not sure what they are doing yet. Last I heard they were going to try for Cosmic Adventures. Either way, Hayden is having Nate and Cait withdrawals so we'll have to get out to see them soon.

Max, our big guy Max. He is officially in a whole big bed all by himself with only the one little rail to keep him from falling out. We also took him to get his haircut again on the weekend. It's only his second one ever! He's trying to talk more and more lately which is great! I'm sure no one else can understand him but to us he makes perfect sense!

Charlotte, she can sit up by herself now. This makes things alot easier. She can play and be alot more interactive with the boys. She sleeps better too since she's burning more energy off. She still hasn't broke any teeth through yet but she's drooling like a St. Bernard so it better be soon. Poor thing is always soaked. We are entering her into the Cutest Baby 2007 contest held by the Ottawa AChannel. Actually, my gramma is entering her I just have to round up some pictures for her to pick from. She did the same thing with Max last year. I had fun doing the pictures.

Dave & I, well we are the same I suppose. We have made plans to take the kids to Toronto for a week at the end of May. We want to do the zoo, go to Angus to see everyone and Dave is bent on taking them to the CN Tower. That's about all of our plans though. Now, we just have to save up to afford a week.

Some news of sorts, Dave lost his wedding ring. Not exactly sure where but he lost it. I figure it was when he took the boys sliding last weekend but who knows. It could very well be the rest of the missing toys that have disappeared lately.

Me, I have been trying to do some scrapbooking but just can't seem to get the time to do much. I want to get some done of all the kids before they start doing too much stuff and I can't keep up. I also want to get a lot more pictures of them too and I suppose while I am it, clean my house, pay the bills and solve world hunger!

Here is the link to one of the newest LO I've done with Terri's Doctor Doctor kit. Rather proud of how it turned out. One of my best yet I believe.

Surprise, Surprise!

So we had a lovely surprise visitor tonight...Nanny Armstrong. It has been awhile since we have seen her and she looked good and was happy. Of course, as is with very Foster the flashbulbs were flying and here are a few we got.

Trying to rope in the 3 of them for a semi-decent shot, all of us and Nanny Armstrong & Charlotte. Really do love her visits!
